Servicing and Parts

Keeping You On The Road For Over 60 Years

For first-class servicing and repairs, look no further. Our dedicated workshops are fitted with the latest tools and diagnostic equipment and staffed with our professional and expert teams.

Our parts departments are on hand too, and are always ready to help you find any part or accessory using our extensive network of suppliers. They're also very helpful if you don't know exactly which part you need - just give them your registration and a description and they can find what you're looking for in the manufacturer's database.

When you visit us for servicing we want you to be comfortable. With MOTs, servicing and light repairs being carried out while you wait, you're free to put your feet up in our waiting areas with a free hot or cold drink. If your vehicle's going to be in for a longer job our fleet of courtesy cars will help keep you on the road, or if you live nearby we may even be able to arrange for a member of our team to drop you off at home.

Find Out More About What We Offer

At Dales we offer comprehensive service packages for all franchise and non-franchise vehicles. As a main dealer we carry out brand specific services, following their required scheduling and standards, and for all other makes we use our own in-house routine to maintain your vehicle. As standard across all services the package will include full vehicle health and manufacturer recall checks, and your car will be returned washed and vacuumed.

In addition we also offer MOTs, air conditioning maintenance and a complete range of repairs for everything from engines and gearboxes to brakes, suspension and exhausts.

At Dales we understand how important a reliable source for parts and accessories is to keeping your vehicle running in the best possible condition. That's why we have dedicated parts departments at all of our sites, providing genuine parts and accessories at competitive prices. We can also recommend non-specific alternatives where appropriate.

Not sure where to start? Don't worry. Our friendly teams are always available to guide you in the right direction, so if you need some advice just give us a call. All we need is the registration number of your vehicle and we can help you find the exact part you need.

If you want to spread your servicing costs we offer a range of tailored solutions. If you buy a new vehicle with us you can opt in to a manufacturer specific plan, or may even have some of your services included with the purchase. These will break your scheduled servicing costs down into manageable monthly payments, typically spread over two to three years.

At Dales we can also provide service plans for used or non-franchise vehicles. This works in much the same way - you will pay a fixed monthly cost, and every time you visit us for a service or MOT your bill will be settled using funds from this pot.

Our workshops offer a range of tyres to suit all budgets. Whether you are looking for economy, midrange or high performance tyres we're sure to have something to suit, and our service teams will always ask your preference before fitting.

We are able to offer fast fittings for those short on time, and our workshops are equipped to carry out laser alignment for tyres that are wearing unevenly.

We understand how stressful an unexpected car repair bill can be. As a partner of Bumper we are able to offer a 0% APR financing solution for parts and repair, allowing you to spread the cost over 3, 6 or 9 monthly payments. Frequently Asked Questions

The easiest way to find out is to just give us a call. We’ll find out whether your car is due an interim or full service. Here’s an overview of these two service types:

  • Interim service

This is designed to be carried about by an engineer every six months or 6,000 miles – whichever comes first. Interim services are useful for identifying issues before they develop into bigger problems.

  • Full service

A full service is a comprehensive maintenance of your vehicle. It includes changes to engine oil, air filters and checks of the safety and mechanical systems.

Regularly maintaining your vehicle with servicing helps to improve fuel efficiency and engine performance, and lets you pre-emptively resolve issues to avoid heavy repair bills later down the road. A full service history also adds significant resell value for prospective buyers.

Different vehicles and manufacturers require different work and conditions for their services, due to varying levels of complexity and manufacturer standards. Our team will always be able to advise you on pricing for any immediate or future service, so just give us a call or drop us an enquiry.

Legally, you must have an MOT carried out every year after the car reaches its third year from the original registration date. So if you buy a car brand new, you won’t need an MOT test until it’s 3 years old. You are however still responsible for ensuring a car’s roadworthiness until this point. This also applies to electric vehicles.

MOT tests check several vehicle components to ensure they’re safe and working properly. This includes:

  • Lights

  • Horn

  • Battery

  • Wiring

  • Steering

  • Suspension

  • Brakes

  • Tyres

  • Seatbelts

  • Bodywork

  • Registration

  • Speedometer

  • Fuel System

  • Exhaust System

  • Emissions

  • Mirrors

  • Wipers

  • Windscreen

If your car fails its MOT, you’ll be given a ‘refusal of an MOT' test certificate. This will highlight the area (or areas) where your vehicle failed. In order to pass, these issues will need to be rectified. Your vehicle cannot be legally driven until they are. This work can be carried out by us, often immediately, with minor issues being resolved while you wait. Once the work is complete we will carry out a free retest and provide you with a pass certificate.

A car service is essentially a health check for your car to make sure it’s running properly. Typically this involves thorough checks across many of your vehicle's systems and components, right down to engine fluid levels and general wear and tear checks of things like brakes and tyres. Where necessary minor work such as fluid changes will be carried out on the spot, with any major issues reported to you and further work recommended.
