In March 2020, we were all hit with news that we didn’t want to hear – that all non-essential businesses had to close their doors to the public. This meant a huge change in the way business is done, particularly for car dealers who rely on face-to-face contact.
Here at Dales of Cornwall, we were no different and our approach to new technology changed. We were forced to quickly adopt these digital technologies in order to keep serving our customers across Cornwall.
We are now in a position, during lockdown 3.0, where we can continue to serve customers who are comfortable with purchasing online, but we have also introduced additional technologies for those who aren’t comfortable with the online buying process.
We are always available on the telephone to help our customers but we have also introduced text and video conferencing, so you can always speak to us with your preferred method of communication.
Our video conferencing allows us to create a much more personable experience for our customers, as it is much more like the face-to-face interaction car buyers are used to. You can book a virtual appointment using the form down the side of our webpages.
We fully understand that potential car buyers want a certain level of interaction with our team, as a car purchase is a big decision. We have introduced these technology to help our customers feel connected in the current climate and feel confident that they have all the resources available to make an informed decision on their next car purchase.
As well as these new technologies, we have also implemented a range of safety precautions around our dealership, including sanitising stations, compulsory mask wearing and one way systems where applicable.
We have also introduced unaccompanied test drives and we also give the vehicle a full clean in between each appointment.
All of these precautions reduce the amount of face-to-face contact, keeping our customers and staff safe.
One of the biggest changes is the introduction of our click & collect service, whereby customers can reserve or even complete the full end-to-end purchase online and only visit us to collect the car or take a test drive.
This has proved very popular and we’ve made it really easy to use. Simple browse our used car stock online and once you find a car you’re happy with, you can click the Build a Deal or Reserve button, depending on how you want to proceed.
