RICHARD CROWNED BEST RENAULT TECHNICIAN IN UK

Richard Combellack, a Renault Technical Expert (RTE) at Dales Renault, proved that he is the best Renault technician in the country after winning the UK round of the Co-Tech Challenge.

Richard, aged 31 from Penzance, who has worked at the dealership in Wheal Rose for more than ten years, fought off strong competition from more than 380 RTEs to earn himself a place in the finals in Paris later in the year where he’ll compete for the title of best RTE in the world.

The Co-Tech Challenge is held every year by Renault to find the best international RTE and sees competitiors from all over the globe compete in a number of practical and theory tests over three days. RTEs are the highest technical qualification in the Renault network and are qualified to carry out complex repairs on new and used Renault cars.

Entrants were given a series of theory questions to answer with Richard getting the highest marks making him the overall winner to become the UK representative at the finals in November.

Richard said: “I’m still in shock as I can’t believe I’ve made it through to the finals.  I honestly never expected to win when I entered the competition but I’m delighted that I’ve now got the chance to compete in such a highly-recognised competition.”
