Engine, Drive & Steering

• Drain engine oil and refill (specialist or synthetic oils subject to additional charge)

• Replace oil filter

• Check for general oil leaks

• Check timing belt replacement interval

• Check condition and tension of auxiliary drive belts (excluding timing/cam belt)

• Replace Spark plugs - petrol engines only (extra charge for 6 or 8 cylinder engines, platinum or long life plugs)
• Check clutch operation
• Check drive shaft gaitors for security and leaks
• Check propshaft/drive shaft/joints and grease where required
• Check Diesel heater plug indicator operation where fitted
• Check steering/suspension components for wear and corrosion
• Check steering rack gaitors
• Check wheel bearings
• Grease steering/suspension (if applicable)
  

Fuel & Coolant

• Check Coolant level & Anti freeze strength

• Check for Fuel leaks

• Check for Coolant leaks

• Replace Air Filter
• Check radiator condition
• Check condition of radiator cap
• Check coolant hoses and clips
• Visually inspect coolant expansion bottle and cap
• Check condition and tension of fan / alternator belt
• Check fuel cap condition
• Visual check fuel lines
  
• Replace Diesel fuel filter (if fitted and external from fuel tank)
• Replace Petrol fuel filter (if fitted and external from fuel tank)
  

Electrical

• Check operation of exterior lights

• Check horn

• Check blower operation

• Check interior lights

• Check Battery security, lubricate terminals
• Top up Battery  (non-sealed units only)
• Visual inspection of HT leads
• Check external condition of distributor cap
• Test effectiveness of starter motor
• Test alternator charging rate - check security
  

Brakes & Exhaust

• Inspect exhaust system inc catalyst if fitted

• Check brake pads, visual inspection

• Check brake callipers, visual inspection

• Check security of handbrake

• Check condition of brake discs, visual inspection

• Visual check for exhaust smoke (Diesel)
  

• Inspect brake drums and shoes for wear and condition

• Inspect operation of  brake wheel cylinders

• Visually check brake hydraulic system, pipes and hoses

• Check brake servo operation

• Check ABS warning light for correct operation (if applicable)

• Test and report brake fluid boiling point (if applicable) 

Tyres & Suspension

• Check shock absorber condition

• Check Tyre Tread Depths

• Check Tyre Pressures and adjust if required

• Remove Road wheels

• Set wheel nut torque to manufacturer’s settings

• Check correct tyre size and tyre fitting
• Check tyre condition/tread depth, (including spare)
• Check and adjust tyre pressures (including spare)
  

Fluid Checks

• Check Brake Fluid Level

• Check Windscreen Washer Levels and Operation

• Check Power Steering Fluid Condition and Levels

• Check for fluid leaks

• Check & Top up clutch fluid (if applicable)
• Check and top up axle and/or transaxle oil (if applicable)
  

General Checks

• Check windscreen wiper condition and operation

• Check rear wiper (if fitted)
  

• Check windscreen for chips & cracks

• Check condition of mirrors

• Check number plate condition

• Check all seatbelts

• Lubricate bonnet catch

• Check pollen filter condition, (replacement/fitting at additional cost)
• Lubricate accessible door hinges
• Road test
  

Final Preparation

• Stamp service book
  

• Wash Vehicle 
  

• Reset service light (where applicable/ subject to data)

• Vacuum Footwells
